We are thrilled to announce that CFE designers CRAIG GREEN and CHARLES JEFFREY, and alumnus JONATHAN ANDERSON have won The Fashion Awards 2017 for their outstanding creativity and innovation.

Last night, the British Fashion Council, in partnership with Swarowski, announced their winners at a gala at the Royal Albert Hall which welcomed a global mix of 4,000 guests, including the fashion industry, students and members of the public.

Craig Green

CRAIG GREEN was distinguished as British Designer of the Year Menswear. The award was presented by FKA Twigs.

Charles Jeffrey

CHARLES JEFFREY won British Emerging Talent Menswear for his eponymous label Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY.  He was presented with the award by John Galliano CBE.

JW Anderson

JONATHAN ANDERSON swept two awards: Accessories Designer of the Year for Loewe (presented by Amber Valletta) and British Designer of the Year Womenswear for JW Anderson (presented by Zandaya).

Judith Tolley, Head of Centre for Fashion Enterprise, said:

“The fashion awards celebrate creativity, talent and designers and creatives who are consistently pushing boundaries. Behind the glamour is the grit and determination to keep moving forward in a business that is operating in arguably one of the most uncertain operating environments in living memory. At CFE we recognise it takes more than just talent to run a fashion business, we are privileged to have supported and work with these worthy winners.”

The evening celebrated fourteen awards, nine voted for by an international panel of 2000 industry opinion formers and five Special Recognition awards. Each winner was given a unique Swarovski crystal trophy, commissioned by architectural designer John Pawson.

Among the other winners were Christopher Bailey MBE, who received a surprise award for Outstanding Contribution to British Fashion, acknowledging his phenomenal transformation of Burberry since joining in 2000, turning the UK company into a renowned global fashion brand. The late Azzedine Alaïa was celebrated for his incredible career spanning over 60 years, acknowledging him as one of the most respected and unique couturiers in the industry.
